Take the spirit of 80’s glam rock, mixed it with a heaping helping of punk, and add just enough funky rockabilly-alternative, and you get SuXess. Their recently released song, Got Drunk, Fell Down, starts off with some seriously heavy drums and fun guitar riffs, and as it goes on I can’t help but think of bands like Kiss, Def Leppard, and maybe even a hint of Mudhoney, right down to the self-effacing lyrical content. And that chorus is catchy as hell. The B-side, Sleeping in the Street, throws some twangy guitars in that give it a real bluesy-country sound, which works really well here. I’ll definitely be jamming out to both of these tracks for a while, and I recommend you check them out on their Bandcamp page, then catch Suxess at the Silver Dollar Room on January 21st.

San Francisco based soul funk band, Hibbity Dibbty are releasing a single entitled, State Trooper and they'll be performing at the Boom Boom Room in San Francisco on January 22nd to celebrate! The San Francisco based garage rock band, Hungry Skinny will be the special guest of the show! We think it is safe to assume the bands are going to play long and invigorating sets, so you certainly won't want to miss this show!

For a lot of us, family holidays can often be a bittersweet time. So we thought that this new single, "Almost," from fledgling dark-wave crew Blood Sound might capture a little bit of the angst you might be feeling from spending too much time with certain family members yet we're hoping that it'll get you bobbing and dancing in the right direction. The band is made up of Chris Jordan, Tristan McKeever, and Vincent Tkac; we are impressed with the tracks that we've heard from the trio so far, and are really looking forward to an official album release. Labels, give them a holla! Blood Sound will be performing on Sunday, December 7 at Silk City with qqq and Lapses.
