Indie supergroup Pale Ramon releases self-titled debut LP on 05.24

Fans of Emanuel and the Fear will want to pay attention to frontman Emanuel Avyas's new project Pale Ramon, which Avyas has started with former Monuments and Oceanographer member Kevin Plessner. Their self-titled debut album will drop on May 24th; its latest single, "The Best Has Yet To Come," which we're premiering today, was inspired by a documentary of a Trump rally in Vegas, and told from the perspective of the young filmmaker trying to make sense of the seemingly decisive and hateful rhetoric being thrown around him. Pale Ramon will celebrate the album release on May 29th at Union Pool. - Will Sisskind

Little Magic Sam - Rippin' Blues Single "Loaded Gun"

Little Magic Sam was born and raised in the town of St.Thomas, Ontario. He grew up on the blues and brings his blues/soul music to the Big Smoke where he now calls home.  His single “Loaded Gun” has an immediately catchy blues riff kickin’ the song off reminiscent of other local Toronto band Flash Lightnin’. This track was recorded at EMAC Studios in London with Moe Berg producing. Catch Little Magic Sam at the Dakota Tavern on May 9th.  Hopefully he'll be rockin his Bo Diddley Gretsch! –Kris Gies

New Empath Album Available for Streaming & Purchase

Active Listening: Night on Earth, the full-length debut from the quartet of Empath, is now available via Get Better Records. Merging shimmering melodies with stormy, noise-effected discord, the band finds a catchy, chaotic balance. Groundswells of rhythm are countered by ethereal synth as the contrast of feathery-ferocity grabs one’s focus with an intriguing intensity. Get lost in its unpredictability. Weekend Warrior - May 3 - 5

If you are looking to efficiently max out your support of local music this weekend, then you definitely want to hit the 3rd annual Good How Are You Fest. Brought to us by Good How Are You Records and Paper Scissors Media, the two-day event will be kicking things off this afternoon at its de facto homebase, South Philly’s Tralfamadore, where Philly acts such as Gender Work and Yeenar will be getting folks warmed up for the stacked Day 2 festivities. On Saturday at Pleasure Mountain Ballroom, you might notice some familiar names on the billing from this corner of The Deli. There will be past Record of the Month recipients Curtis Cooper, Secret Nudist Friends, and Blushed, alongside former Featured Artist(s) Poll nominees and winners Kelsey Cork & The Swigs, Puppy Angst, and Busy Bee Project, so it should be easy to see why we think this is the place where you need to be this weekend. Because you surely deserve a bit of pleasure in your life! – H.M. Kauffman
