Reptalien's Shuggie II Video

Reptaliens have a new album, Valis, coming out on April 26th. So far they have a few pre-released songs, and they let the Deli take a peek at the full album. Valis emphasizes minimalism and clarity. It gives the audience plenty of room to breathe and enjoy the beats. The combination of airy vocals, 80’s synthesizer, and dreamy tempos sound like a relaxed version of snythwave artists like Night Tempo, or Desired. It’s pleasant to both dance and nap to, which is an enjoyable quality. "Shuggie II" is particularly sweet. The band just released a self-directed video for the song. The video is the perfect accompaniment to "Shuggie II" in both attitude and aesthetic. Each shot looks like the result of a sci-fi movie that was turned into an 80’s infomercial. It’s thoughtful and introspective, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It looks like it was a lot of fun to make, and it was definitely a lot of fun to watch.

Reptaliens will be playing the Wonder Ballroom on Thursday, April 25th. Turnover and Turnstile will also be playing sets.

New Apt A Album Available for Streaming & Purchase

The trio of your most defiant neighbors in Apt A recently shared its second release, Apt B. Voicing an internalized monologue, the songs serve as an earnest, snarky look into the band's daily observations. Speaking into a noisy and, at times, chaotic void, the recordings have a bluntness that hits the mark in humorous fashion. You definitely don't want to fuck with Apt A. Or do you?

Sipper's "OMG" is a bitter secret; "Sipper" EP out today

Sipper’s Joe Beerman is, as the lyrics of his new track suggests, a modern man - his voice has the breathy quality of Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam with the wandering, occasionally growl adjacent vocal delivery of Stephen Malkmus. Channeled simultaneously over stumbling, guitar driven indie, these elements give his new single “OMG” the quality of a hushed secret you weren’t supposed to hear; the song is dripping with an intimacy that’s as authentic as it is explosive. As its accompanying visual suggests, it’s the perfect soundtrack to a party you don’t want to be at, a fun indie romp wrapped up in malaise. Watch the video premiere below, and be sure to catch Sipper’s debut EP, out today (April 10th) on Invertebrate. - Connor Beckett McInerney (@b_ck_tt)

New Track: "Pluto" - So Totally

in the shape of..., the forthcoming album from So Totally, is scheduled to arrive on May 3, and the band recently shared its lead single “Pluto”. An initial, luminous glide creates a sense of lightness that gradually gives way to the afterburners of murkier fuzz. There is a relatable outlook within the spacey, shoegazing framework - one of feeling temporarily lost and out of sorts among your peers, while wanting the comfort of attention as you drift off. New Boon EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

The quartet of Boon recently released its latest album All of Us Laughing, which is available on cassette via Glass Orchard Records. Waves of vocals refreshingly wash over you as pensive arrangements negotiate space, forming intriguing sonic shapes. Floating through that heady atmosphere, the words appear to be transmitted in as the music swirls around it. Boon will be performing next in Philly on Saturday, April 13 at Gay Baby Jail with Mavis the Dog, Carinae, Mother Tongues, and Stoner Will & the Narks.
