New Videos: "Body Double" (Live) & "Integration Loop" (Live) - Lushlife + CSLSX

Lushlife and CSLSX brought a pair of songs from The Deli Philly’s March Record of the Month, Ritualize (Western Vinyl), to the live stage at The Special Without Brett Davis. Intertwining the sleek, gliding, futuristic instrumentation with Lush laying down some percussion, the group serves up the smooth fire of “Body Double” and the meditative haze of “Integration Loop”. Lushlife will be back in town on Sunday, May 22 at Johnny Brenda's with Islands. Grab your tix soon, or you'll be left out!

Beyond The Bars Fundraiser w/The Districts, Hop Along's Frances Quinlan & More at WCL April 17

World Cafe Live is hosting a fundraiser for Beyond The Bars, featuring rising local artists such as The Districts and Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan. All ticket sales will benefit the Beyond The Bars program, which provides musical education and instruments for incarcerated youth in Greater Philadelphia. The program seeks to empower these disadvantaged young men and women by equipping them with an outlet for creative expression and a sense of agency while they grapple with the frequently disorienting and dissociative bureaucracy of the criminal justice system. In support of this righteous cause, The Districts will take to the stage on Sunday evening with their universally adored, weary-plodding folk-pop/rock. Frances Quinlan will jolt you awake with her electric and hugely dynamic voice. Also pitching in for the cause will be Lushlife (DJ Set), Queen of Jeans, Ben Arnold, Milton, and The Bul Bey. World Cafe Live, 3025 Walnut St, 4pm, $20, All Ages. - Bryce Woodcock

NYC rapper Koncept plays Arlene's Grocery 4/16

Koncept shook up our senses in 2015 with “The Fuel” EP (co-produced by J57), aand by storming SXSW in March this year. Now we can see him bring his fire to the intimate and historic Arlene’s Grocery. As he raps in his newest single, “Crazy is Beautiful,” -- “Never look back at the past me, that would bring me down so badly.” The EP is a testament to living in the present. If you’re feeling like you’re running on empty, come out and fuel up. Doors at 6pm. He plays at 8pm. Don't be late!

Nothing, Nowhere. weaves together various genres in 'Who Are You?'

In a world where the lines between genres keep blurring it’s no surprise when bands or artists create works the defy fitting into any one of them. What is refreshing, though, is when they do it well. Enter Nothing, Nowhere. With self deprecatingly analytical lyrics glazed over with a layer of anger, dreamy reverb guitars, rapping, and samplings from movies and readings Nothing, Nowhere. builds tracks that take cues from emo, indie dream pop, and hip hop. Thus forging an LP (streaming below) that explores love, frustration, religion and loss of faith with an unique style. Keep an eye out on their facebook page for any future concerts.
