Get your Shamrock Shimmy on

It's that time of year again...St. Patrick's Day. A day where we wear green to avoid getting pinched, get terribly wasted on dyed green boozy beverages, and pretend like we're celebrating Irish culture when in reality we're just looking for another excuse to day drink. No matter your reasons for indulging in whatever festivities you choose, one good time to consider would be the Shamrock Shimmy happening at the Goodfoot that night. Both Tribe Mars and POPgoji are set to play. Both of their approaches to a culturally varied neo-soul, hip hop and jazz are sure to make you want to dance about. Just be careful not to spill green beer on anyway as you girate.

Tickets run $7 and doors are at 9pm. Bring your luck and cheer, and join in on the fun!

New Music Video: "The Waking World" (Feat. I Break Horses) - Lushlife + CSLSX

Philly emcee/producer Lushlife, fresh off the release of his new album Ritualize (Western Vinyl), has a new hazy video for "The Waking World," his collaborative effort with CSLSX and Swedish shoegazers I Break Horses. It features a montage of vintage clips with the occasional Lushlife silhouette overlay and choice words from his rhymes. The video - mostly still frames and quick edits - is about as wide-ranging as the present influences on his latest record. While vast, the clip choices are far from random - each one either directly or indirectly referring to his lyrics. The bleary, dynamic footage is contrasted by Lush’s sharp-as-a-tack rhymes and stone-cold flow.

Austin's Most Exciting New Hip-Hop Act The Bishops Releases First Music Video

Damn, those Bishops are some hip-ass, musical-ass, Austin-ass kids. We showed you their stellar chilled out (but brained up) debut track ‘Blood Ring’ a few weeks ago, and dang if the trio hasn’t gone and put a nice video to the music already. In it we see the three family members strolling with confidence, and some real fine clothing, through Austin’s streets, most particularly in a striking scene going down the middle of the iconic 183 underpass. These kids are solid from the beats to the look to the way they step toward the ever-receding camera with understated assuredness in their own abilities, and this is likely be the first of many glimpses of these three faces of the future of Austin hip-hop that the city will get. Be one of the first on this good, good shit by taking a look below, and follow The Bishops at their FB page for more as this triad of dangerously talented kin release it.

The Last Artful, Dodgr drops first music video

A good beat and some sick rhymes. When the search for a banger becomes a more arduous task than need be, these two key elements can make or break a song. Thankfully, The Last Artful, Dodgr isn't green to what makes a hot track. Pigeons and Planes premiered the first release she's had since the Fracture's EP this past Tuesday. "Squadron" also happens to be The Last Artful, Dodgr's first music video. Her raspy tone hijacks Australian producer WNTD's beat in this nod to your #squad, but the whole package is one worthy of playing on repeat. It's the most fire two minutes you'll hear today, and the video will make you want to roll one up.
