frogi makes a blissful plea on new single, "Time"

"Time," the new single by singer/songwriter frogi, begins slow and steady. "Baby let's just give it time," she beckons, a song she wrote during a period of emotional relationship turmoil. She uses nothing more than her soft, enrapturing voice, hitting each note with striking precision over a droning ambient backdrop until she builds things up to a soaring finish. Her denouement is simple, yet sublime, letting us in into her most vulnerable state with a freeing sense of resolution.

Bluegrass artist Billy Strings releases "Taking Water" from upcoming sophomore album

Billy Strings has released "Taking Water", his first single from his upcoming sophomore album HOME, set to come out on September 27th. While Michigan-born Strings' acoustic-heavy sound remains undeniably bluegrass -- complete with accompaniment from the banjo, fiddles, and bass -- he finds ways to add in hints of punk, ambient, and psych rock to his tunes. It results in a gripping country sound that makes a song like "Taking Water" a breathtaking listen. Strings will hit the road this month on a nationwide tour supporting the release of HOME; catch him in Nashville when he returns for a show on September 11th at Americanafest. Take a listen to "Taking Water" below. - Will Sisskind

A Deli Premiere: "Live It Up (feat. Lanna)" by Tano Brock

You could say Tano Brock has been living it up the last couple of years, traveling from his native San Francisco and relocating to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. While in Bean Town Brock has managed to keep busy and capture the spirit of his travels with his latest single “Live It Up” which features vocals from Brock’s Bay Area friend Lanna. “Live It Up” delivers an impressive grouping of pop elements that along with some R&B drizzle, create a track ideal for the summer. The kick drum driven song is layered with synthesizer thrusts that fill enough sonic space to create a solid foundation for Brock and Lanna’s vocal dance. Brock is confident in his vocal delivery: the singer’s lead melodies entrance and he packs surprises with rich harmonies at every turn. Brock, at a young age, is showing his acute ear for pop music’s demands by creating colorful compositions that hook listeners with serious intent. The singer/songwriter is cruising through the summer in style and prepping some shows for Boston peeps to attend. We are premiering “Live It Up” for you below. - Rene Cobar

King Corduroy drops music video for Americana track "Workin' for a Livin"

Americana artist King Corduroy will release his new EP Avalon Ave. on August 16th; to preview the drop, he's released the single "Workin' for a Livin", along with its music video. A little rootsy and swampy, "Workin' for a Livin" mixes a little Texas blues and Southern rock with sounds from the Mississippi Delta and New Orleans' French Quarter. For the better part of the past decade, King Corduroy has written songs that reflect the world around him, and "Workin' for a Livin" helps to tell the stories of people doing whatever it takes to get by in the somewhat unstable world we live in today. Take a look at the music video for the single, which features little clips of people on the job doing what they can to survive. - Will Sisskind
